And the winner is... MN Boys' Basketball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top Performer winner

Henry Abraham, Cambridge-Isanti. The Bluejackets junior had 21 points and three steals in a 78-65 victory over Chisago Lakes on Feb. 26. Abraham then recorded 28 points, seven boards, eight assists and three steals against No. 5-3A Princeton on March 1, though his performance wasn't enough to avoid a 93-91 loss.

Top performer candidates

Jayden Ruberg, Two Harbors. Ruberg recorded two 30-point outings for the Agates despite his team's winless record last week. He scored 35 points at Greenway on Feb. 25 and three days later finished with 34 points against Aitkin.

Dion Ford, St. Paul Central. Against St. Paul Johnson on Feb. 26, Ford scored his 1,000th career point. He finished the game with 18 points to lead his Minutemen to a 67-39 win. On March 2, the senior went for 19 points to help defeat No. 2-2A Minneapolis North 77-74.

Steven Crowl, Eastview. The junior pushed his team to two wins in a pair of close encounters last week. Crowl scored 19 points in the Lightning's 67-64 victory over Eagan on Feb. 26. The next game, a 79-75 triumph over Burnsville, he finished with 26 points. 

Jack Thompson, St. Thomas Academy. Thompson guided St. Thomas Academy past Hastings 79-57 on March 1 with an all-around performance. He tallied 28 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in the win.

Eli Campbell, Minneapolis North. The senior went for 30 points to lead No. 2-2A Minneapolis North to an 84-41 victory over Minneapolis Washburn on Feb. 28. Campbell then scored 23 points in a three-point loss to St. Paul Central on March 2.

Joe Cvancara, Duluth Denfeld. With 15 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and three steals from Cvancara, Duluth Denfeld grabbed an 81-65 victory over Duluth Marshall on Feb. 27. The 6-foot-6 senior averages 11.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.  

Ben Maslow, Trinity. Maslow posted 28 points to help Trinity earn a 74-32 win over Mounds Park Academy on Feb. 28. The senior averages a team-high 19 points per game.

Charles Johnson, Holy Angels. Johnson made an impact on both sides of the ball for the Stars against St. Agnes on Feb. 26. He finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks in the 89-53 win.

Charlie Gorres, Park of Cottage Grove. The senior forward had two big scoring nights last week. Gorres finished with 28 points to help the Wolfpack defeat Mounds View 74-69 on Feb. 26. Later in the week, he scored 30 points in an 85-70 loss to No. 9-4A Cretin-Derham Hall.
