And the winner is... MN Boys' Basketball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top Performer winner

Jacob Donnett, Kaleidoscope Charter. The Comets' leading scorer did a bit of everything in an eventual loss to Lakes International Language Academy on Feb. 4. Donnett tallied 15 points, 22 rebounds, six assists, five blocks and three steals despite his team's 62-53 loss.

Top performer candidates

Luke Malamisuro, Cambridge-Isanti. Malamisuro found a way to help his team end a losing run last week. The senior recorded 23 points, five rebounds and four assists to beat Monticello 79-63 on Feb. 5, and three days later, he finished with 19 points, five assists and four steals in a 79-63 win at Big Lake.

J'vonne Hadley, Mahtomedi. The junior exploded for 52 points at Hill-Murray — outscoring the Pioneers on his own in Mahtomedi's 105-42 victory on Feb. 8. The Zephyrs sit in the sixth-ranked spot in Class 3A by Minnesota Basketball News. 

David Roddy, Breck. Two 30-point performances by Roddy led No. 6-2A Breck to a 2-0 record last week. Breck's forward reached 32 points on Feb. 5 in a 67-44 win over Providence Academy, then topped himself the following contest by scoring 34 points in a 66-56 win at Blake. The senior now has four straight games with more than 30 points tallied. 

Cole Elrod, Spectrum. Elrod led the charge with 32 points — pushing No. 8-2A Spectrum to a 95-52 win against PACT Charter School on Feb. 8. The win extended Spectrum's unbeaten streak to six games.

Bennett Otto, Champlain Park. Otto energized No. 9-4A Champlain Park last week and guided his team to two wins. His peak performance came against Elk River on Feb. 5. He posted 22 points, seven boards, seven assists and four steals in the 86-51 victory.

Derek Techam, Delano. Techam scored 43 points at Orono and led his team to a 77-71 victory on Feb. 8. No. 8-3A Delano earned three wins during the week behind his scoring, 84 points in total. 

Michael Reader, New Life Academy. The forward helped put New Life Academy past PACT Charter School on Feb. 6. Reader scored 22 points in an 80-38 road victory, which snapped a three-game losing streak.

Caleb Hoilien, Hope Academy. The state's leader in three-pointers did more than just score to lead his team to a 69-54 win over Eagle Ridge Academy on Feb. 8. He tallied 30 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks to prevent his team from suffering a third consecutive loss.

Tait Nelson, St. Anthony. Nelson put in 34 points in a 69-65 loss to Concordia Academy on Feb. 8. St. Anthony's guard continued his scoring form by netting 24 points in the following contest, a 67-47 win against St. Agnes the next day.
