Stillwater and Tartan both relied on balanced scoring and strong defense this season, but the Titans were a little better at both on Tuesday, knocking off the Ponies 51-33 in the Class 4A, Section 4 semifinals at East Ridge High School.

Tartan, which is ranked seventh in the state by Minnesota Basketball News, limited the Ponies to just 11 points in the second half to pull away.

The top-seeded Titans (25-3) advance to face No. 2 seed Cretin-Derham Hall (21-7) in Friday's section finals at East Ridge.
