Perham players say that teammate Zach Gabbard is always with them. This was the case Friday when the Yellowjackets, 23-1, played their final regular-season game at Wadena-Deer Creek.
The players also have stepped up off the court for Gabbard who collapsed Jan. 20 during a basketball game in Glyndon.
The boys basketball team took the lead in selling t-shirts which has resulted in more than $20,000 for the Gabbard family. Last weekend the players took part in a “One Clap for Zach” fundraiser at Mulligan’s Pub and Eatery in Perham. The event raised over $75,000.
