33 from Apple Valley's Jones not enough vs. Eastview

EASTVIEW 74, APPLE VALLEY 67: Tyus Jones won the scoring battle, but Eastview won the game. Jones, a freshman guard, scored a season-high 33 points but it still was not enough for the Eagles in a game between district rivals. Eastview's Joey King nearly matched Jones in the scoring column, putting up 30 points to help Eastview overcome a five-point halftime deficit.

EAGAN 75, LAKEVILLE NORTH 68: Eagan senior forward Matt Hentges tallied 10 of his team-high 16 points in the first half to lead the Wildcats in the South Suburban. All five Eagan starters scored in double-figures in a balanced attack. Lakeville North senior forward Adam Petterson led the Panthers with 19 points. Eagan swept the season series.

ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 60, BECKER 52: St. Michael-Albertville senior forward Joe Carpenter finished with a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Becker junior center Damien Reinke led all scorers with 30 points.

ANOKA 94, ELK RIVER 86 (OT): Anoka outlasted Elk River as both teams had hot nights from the free throw line. Anoka made 21 straight free throws to end the game, including eight in overtime from junior guard Marcus Tyus, who led everybody with 46 points. Elk River senior forward Ben Erickson was 18-for-18 from the free throw line, a school record for most consecutive free throws in a game, while scoring a team-high 40 points.

HIGHLAND PARK 68, HUMBOLDT 64 (OT): The teams were tied at the end of the first half and regulation, but Highland Park eventually took a 68-64 victory in the St. Paul City conference. With the score tied 64-64 in overtime, Highland's junior guard Ty'shaun Williams grabbed a loose ball for a steal and followed with a lay-up to put Highland Park ahead for good.

BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 73, COLUMBIA HEIGHTS 57: Trailing by five at halftime, the Red Knights found their rhythm in the second half, completing a comeback and remaining perfect in North Suburban play. Zach Lofton, the metro's leading scorer, was back in action for Columbia Heights after having the stitches from his lacerated right knee removed on Friday. He played sparingly in the first half and started the second, but only managed 11 points. Benilde's Sanjay Lumpkin (20 points overall), Isaiah Zierden (19) and Evan Battle (16) combined to score 39 of the team's 48 points in the second half.

WAYZATA 74, MINNETONKA 53: Trojans senior guard Jack Vettel scored 27 points, including six three-pointers, while fellow senior guard Tanner Helgren chipped in 19 points in the victory.

MAPLE LAKE 76, EDEN VALLEY-WATKINS 44: Senior forward Mitch Wurm played just 21 minutes, but he scored a season-high 31 points in the victory.

BETHLEHEM ACADEMY 71, BELLE PLAINE 70 (OT): Belle Plaine senior Miah Fogarty (14 points) hit a three-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to send the game into overtime. But it was Cardinals sophomore Kyle Filzen (14 points) who provided the most important heroics, nailing a jumper at the overtime buzzer to win it for Bethlehem Academy. Senior Ryan Diers (Belle Plaine) and sophomore Adam Clark (Bethlehem Academy) both scored 19 points to lead their teams.
