In the world of college, and now high school sports, the highly visible, active and vocal fans in the stands can go a long way toward firing up the players on the field or the court.
That was the thinking behind an effort this basketball season for a couple of Hopkins High School seniors who decided to form the Lindbergh Loonies, a group of about a dozen boys whose goal is to cheer and demonstrate louder than anyone inside the gym, especially at the Royals' homes games.
