Hopkins beats Edina 87-81 in close match-up

HOPKINS 87, EDINA 81: Senior forward Marvin Singleton scored a season-high 31 points, including 23 in the first half for Hopkins in the home victory. Edina trailed by 18 at halftime, but hit 14 three-pointers in the game to cut the deficit to three late in the second half. Sophomore guard Graham Woodward led the Hornets with 17 points in the loss.

BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 45, PRIOR LAKE 42: The Lakers pulled ahead for the first time in the game with ten seconds remaining, but senior Jaguars guard Marcus Alipate then hit four free throws to ice the win for Jefferson. Junior forward Ryan Gilmer led the Jaguars with 16 points. Senior Prior Lake guard Kyle Repinski was the only Laker to reach double figures, scoring 12.

EDEN PRAIRIE 81, WAYZATA 70: Like their girls’ team, the Eden Prairie Boys stayed perfect in the Lake with an 11-point road victory over Wayzata behind 20 points from senior center Conner Nord and 19 from junior guard Sander Mohn. Senior guard Tanner Helgren led the Trojans - who dropped to 1-2 in the conference -  with 18 points.

CHAMPLIN PARK 73, CENTENNIAL 66: Champlin senior forward and scoring leader T.J. Okafor hit a three-pointer from the corner with two minutes remaining to give the rebels the lead, which they never relinquished. Okafor’s teammate Anthony Hill posted a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

ANNANDALE 73, HUTCHINSON 72: Sophomore guard Brett Ahsenmacher scored with 1.9 seconds remaining in the game to seal the one-point victory for Annandale in Wright County play. He scored a season-high 25 points, including six three-pointers.

CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 87, FOREST LAKE 80: Senior guard Raijon Kelly eclipsed the 1,000-point career scoring mark in a game-high 20 point performance to lead the Raiders past the Rangers in the Suburban East. Senior guard Tyler Rosenberger led the Rangers with 20 points.

•  HILL-MURRAY 73, MAHTOMEDI 65: Pioneers senior forward Jim Remke posted 30 points and 10 rebounds in road victory over Classic Suburban foe Mahtomedi,. Remke’s teammate and fellow senior forward Rob Daul led all scorers with 31 points.

•  EAGAN 59, BURNSVILLE 39: The Blaze drew to within seven points three times in the second half, but Eagan’s Nick Sabatke countered with a three-pointer each time to help keep Burnsville at bay. Sabatke, a junior guard, finished with a game-high 15 points for the Wildcats, who are ranked No. 4 in Class 4A.
