Perham High School basketball player Zach Gabbard, who collapsed during a game against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Jan. 20, underwent successful emergency heart surgery Friday at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

According to Associated Press reports, Gabbard was taken into surgery Friday morning and emerged three hours later. It was reported that his vital signs were stable, but he was still in critical condition and heavily sedated.
