By Star Tribune, 03/07/17, 8:00PM CST

The five senior finalists for the Mr. Basketball award.

School: Watertown-Mayer | Height: 6-5 | Position: SG

College: Pepperdine

A natural scorer who can score off the dribble or connect from outside. Averaging 23.9 points per game. Had more than 20 Division I offers before signing with Pepperdine.

School: Maple Grove | Height: 6-3 | Position: G

College: Wisconsin

The 2016 Star Tribune Metro Football Player of the Year choose his first love, basketball, as his college pursuit. Averaging 24.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game. Consummate leader. Committed to Wisconsin last summer.

School: DeLaSalle | Height: 6-7 | Position: F

College: George Mason

Long-limbed and athletic, Mar has turned himself from an outside shooter to a force inside and out. Match-up nightmare for opponents: Can shoot over smaller players and go around bigger ones. Averaging 21.0 points per game for the five-time Class 3A champion Islanders.

School: Lakeville North | Height: 6-10 | Position: F

College: Wisconsin

A complete package. Length and timing make him a shot-blocking force. Runs the floor well for a player his size. Can step outside and knock down three-pointers. Has elevated his game this season, averaging 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocked shots per game.

School: Champlin Park | Height: 6-0 | Position: G

College: Dayton

The most complete player among the finalists. Averaging 22.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game. Can score at will, but prefers to get teammates involved. Excellent rebounder for his size. Has led Champlin Park to a 26-0 regular-season record.

The MN Basketball Hub poll is based on opinion and not used to determine who is named Mr. Basketball.
