Sophomore Dustin Fronk drained a three-pointer from the right corner to give Apple Valley the lead for good, as the Eagles rallied for a 67-65 victory over Waconia in the Breakdown Sports Tip Off Classic at Minnetonka High School.

Fronk's trey capped a 10-0 run that turned a 60-53 deficit into a 63-60 lead with just over a minute remaining.  He finished with 17 points and was the outside threat to balance Thomas Schalk's inside presence.  Just coming back from an ankle injury, Schalk had a game-high 27 points on a variety of post moves.  Fronk helped the Eagles overcome the continued absence of star freshman guard Tyus Jones, who has missed all but one game this winter.

Waconia had broken out to a double-digit lead in the first half, courtesy of its own inside-outside combination.  Vanderbilt-bound forward Shelby Moats (21 points) and hot-shooting senior guard Ben Kortuem (27 points) scored 48 of the Wildcats' 65 points.
