In a game of contrasting styles, Holy Family's inside force overcame the outside bombing of Braham in the opener of the Breakdown Sports Tip Off Classic at Minnetonka High School, 82-74.
Six-foot-8 Ryan Dahl scored 36 points as the Fire overcame a 43-36 halftime deficit. The big junior had 25 points and 12 field goals in the second half -- as he was a focus for the Fire's offense. Brian King (15 points) and guard Max Rosenthal (13 points) also scored in double figures.
Meanwhile, Braham bombed away from the perimeter, with junior guard Tyler Vaughan (37 points) hitting six of the team's eight treys. Ben Thiry added 21 points and Drew Klemz had 12 points. But the Bombers had no answer inside for Dahl in the second half. Holy Family outscored Braham 46-31 after intermission.
