Orioles expose some flaws, but Royals still able to come up with sizable victory

The No. 1-ranked Hopkins cruised in one of its biggest tests to date with a 86-68 victory over No. 2-ranked Osseo on Saturday night in the Tip-Off Classic at Minnetonka High School.

Osseo's physical play exposed some of the Royals' flaws, especially on the boards, but the Royals still came up with a sizable victory over a tough test.

Coach Ken Novak, Jr. said he didn't believe the final score was indicative of the game itself.

"It didn't have the feel of a 20-point game. It had a feel of kind of a grind the whole time," Novak said. "There were no easy baskets. People had to work for what they got and those are the type of games that make you better."

The Royals' Joe Coleman scored 25 points. Siyani Chambers and Marvin Singleton added 21 points each.

Osseo's Joey Sonnenfeld led the Orioles with 26 points.
