Osseo coach Tim Theisen wrote five letters on the visiting locker room white board before the game had even begun: HEART.

After all, in the last week, the squad had gone up against three top teams.

The Orioles proved Theisen's letters were more than just a word, overcoming a 22-point deficit and staging a gutsy, magical sort of win over Armstrong, 73-70 in double overtime.

"That was probably the best win that I've ever had," said Bridge Tusler, whose 3-point buzzer-beater sent the game into overtime.

Osseo started out the game looking completely out-matched. Three of Armstrong's first four shots were 3-pointers, and by halftime the Falcons had built a 35-21 lead as the Orioles struggled to find a rhythm and tried to mimic the long-ball action of their opponent.

"I think we did get caught up in the situation," said Theisen, who said he labeled the tough stretch of games "Champions Week." "But the good thing about playing a 3-point shooting team is obviously they can hit some big shots right away and build up a lead, but they can also shoot their way out. We kind of preach 'stick with the system'."

The Falcons came out strong in the second half, converting four of their first five possessions to increase the lead to 22, but with about 10 minutes remaining, Osseo began to chip away, going on a 17-3 run that focused more on their inside game.

Then, with 11 seconds remaining and Armstrong hanging on by a point, the Falcons' KJ Bluford was sent to the line and made both shots to make it 61-58.

When Tusler got the ball off the inbound, he tried to pass it away twice before finally shooting the three – his first points of the game --which struck the rim and went in at the buzzer, sending the Osseo bleachers into chaos.

"That was the luckiest and best shot I've ever taken," he said.
