Eastview wins crosstown rivalry, beats Apple Valley in OT

• EASTVIEW 50, APPLE VALLEY 44 (OT): The Lightning held a 12-point lead early in the second half, but Apple Valley clawed its way back and tied the score with four minutes left. Eastview turned up the defensive pressure in the overtime period, holding Apple Valley scoreless. Frank Veldman led the Lightning with 14 points. Apple Valley’s Tom Schalk, in his first game back from an ankle injury, led all scorers with 22 points.

• ST. PAUL HIGHLAND PARK 74, ST. PAUL HARDING 47: Harding led by three points at halftime, but a combination of lockdown defense and hot shooting in the second half spurred Highland Park to victory. Darrell Hill scored all 18 of his points in the second half, including four three-pointers in a row, and Ty’shaun Williams scored 18 of his game-high 30 points after halftime for the Scots. Highland Park held Harding scoreless for an 8½-minute stretch in the second half.

• BIG LAKE 77, ROGERS 76 (2OT): Freshman forward Austin Poe hit a three-pointer with less than one minute remaining in the second overtime period to break a 73-73 tie and give Big Lake the lead for good. Taylor Otto led Big Lake with 20 points, while Trevor Morlock led Rogers with 18.

• MONTICELLO 54, CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI 53 (OT): Monticello’s Anthony Saavedra led all scorers with 28 points, including two free throws with 11 seconds left in overtime to put his team up by one. After a timeout, Cambridge-Isanti ran a play and ended up shooting a three-pointer from the right side, but it went off the rim. Ted Lutterman led Cambridge-Isanti with 20 points.

• ST. LOUIS PARK 53, COOPER 51: Aaron Ziman hit two free throws with 21 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lift the Orioles over the Hawks.

• TOTINO-GRACE 76, NORTH BRANCH 52: Alex Kreuser scored 16 points, including the 1,000th of his career, for the Eagles.

• CHOF 61, PARK CHRISTIAN 53: Junior center Tyler Strandlund recorded a triple-double — 20 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high 13 blocked shots — for the victorious Lions.
