Marshall's big come-from-behind victory over Worthington leads off a look at last weekend's basketball from around the state.

• Marshall 68, Worthington 59: Marshall’s wake up call arrived late, with about 11 minutes remaining in the first half and the Tigers’ trailing 30-11. “Unfortunately, (the urgency) didn’t happen until we got down,” Marshall coach Tom Critchley told the Marshall Independent. “We went to our full-court press and we took them out of their game.” Marshall, which was led by 20 points from Caleb Johnson, cut the lead to 36-29 by halftime and retained the momentum in the second half. Worthington’s Jalen Voss tallied a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

• Winona 68, Irondale 62: The Winhawks handed Irondale its first loss of the season thanks to a career game from senior forward Mark Blacklock. He made 16-of-19 field goal attempts en route to a a career-high 37 points. Blacklock also snagged 12 rebounds and had a key assist late to help seal the win.

• AlBrook-Cotton 69, Wrenshall 64: Bryce Karppinen scored 21 points for AlBrook, pushing him over the 1,000-career point mark.

• St. Cloud Apollo 66, Rocori 54: Apollo showed why teams spend so much time practicing free throws. The Eagles made 22 of 23 from the charity stripe to hold off Rocori in a key Central Lakes Conference game. Senior forward Blake Maslonkowski paced the Eagles, ranked No. 8 in Class 3A, scoring 24 points and adding eight rebounds.

• St. Cloud Tech 65, Sartell 60: A deep Tech team had eight players in the scoring column, led by junior Alex Matchinsky’s 16. Sartell led by three at the half but Tech fought back in the second, with a late three-pointer by Michael Seehusen effectively sealing the game.

• Kasson-Mantorville remains unbeaten: The KoMets edged Hiawatha Valley rival Zumbrota-Mazeppa 45-44 in a battle of unbeaten teams Friday night and edged Blue Earth Area 42-39 the following evening to improve their record to 5-0 on the season.

• Minnesota Transitions 91, Cloquet 55: Kyle Noreen has stepped out of the shadow of his brother, 2010 Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year Kevin Noreen. Kyle had a monster game in the victory over Cloquet, scoring 38 points, handing out 17 assists, making 11 steals and snatching 7 rebounds.
