Centenial steams past Elk River

BLAINE 89, MAPLE GROVE 79: The Bengals started slowly with 38 first-half points, but a huge turnaround in the second half carried them to victory. Senior Zach Romashko lead all scorers with 28 points. Junior Tanner Schumacher chipped in with 18 points.

FOREST LAKE 72, CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI 69: Senior guard Phil Hegseth’s hot start to the season continued in the home victory. Hegseth finished with 22 points to bring his early season average to 23.0 ppg. Cambridge-Isanti’s Ted Lutterman led all scorers with 24 points.

CENTENNIAL 101, ELK RIVER 85: A fast-paced, back-and-forth affair favored Centennial, as the Cougars eclipsed the century mark. Centennial was led by a trio of guards with all over 20 points: Mason Hurley (20), Joshua Matheson (23) and Mitchell Kuck (26).

WATERTOWN-MAYER 73, SIBLEY EAST 59: Junior Nate Kratch patrolled the paint in dominating fashion for the Royals. The center scored a team-high 20 points and pulled down 18 rebounds.

ROGERS 65, ST. CLOUD TECH 61: Senior guards R.J. Dean and Trevor Morlock propelled the Royals to the non-conference win. Morlock led Rogers with 20 points, while Dean’s 15 second-half points helped the Royals break a 36-36 halftime tie.
