Coach Dave Cresap will start his 21st season as head coach of the Yellowjackets and will be joined again by several of his quality assistants including Brian Schwantz and C-squad coach Brent Hanson. This year will provide some early challenges returning just one returning player who played solid minutes last year.
Sam Muer will take his experience and work to build confidence amongst his teammates to be a factor in the Heart O' Lakes this season. The Perham program has been built from bottom up, so to see them struggle as a squad early in the season will be only due to finding their new identity if it happens.
Coach Cresap’s squads always bring an excellent defense and have a great cohesiveness between teammates that works in their advantage almost always. While, they may be middle of the pack early, there is a chance to be a very tough team come playoff times.
Hawley seems to be a name mentioned often as the main team to beat in Section 8AA. Crosby-Ironton is another squad looking like a main contender that’ll be looking to get to State. For the Yellowjackets to be in the same groups, replacing all of the scoring and rebounding that is pretty much gone will have to be done over a few months time. You can bet Perham will be have high expectations of themselves and work hard to meet their goals.
