Eden Valley-Watkins is looking ahead to a big season. Coach Adam Langer’s team went 16-10 last year and lost in the sub-section finals to New London-Spicer. That experience along with returning a very good core of players, should excite the home fans of potentially a season extending even further.

Bret Mattice , who has earned a scholarship at Dakota Wesleyan University next season, is the highest returning scorer from last season with a very nice 18.8ppg average. He is going to be flanked by two very big rebounders in 6’6 SR Jared Striet and 6’5 Austin Schlangen, so on paper that looks like a very nice starting point. Streit averaged a double double last season going 16.7ppg/11.7rpg.

The conference over the past years has been owned by BBE, but this season it will be a little more open. BBE will still be very competitive, but teams like Kimball, Maple Lake, Pierz & Rockford will be pining to be the new leaders of what seems to be a conference full of very good basketball teams this season. It will be a great one to keep track of.

Big games of mention for the Eagles this are the two matchups versus Maple Lake and a rematch vs New London-Spicer on their home court.

Langer, in his 8th season is assisted by Jason Hulsche and Jake Anderson. These gentlemen will work with the team to achieve a conference championship and have them be at their peak come February to make noise in Section 6AA.
