There is a lot of excitement for Long Prairie-Grey Eagle boys basketball this upcoming season. Coach Brandon Puck begins his 2nd season as head coach of the Thunder. He is assisted by Mike Eberle.

Everyone is back from last season including 3 kids who all averaged double digits in points. Tommy Geisenhoff (13.1ppg/5apg) is a well rounded player who’ll be one of the guards making things happen on both ends of the court. Trevor Bergmann(10.7/3.3apg) is a backcourt returner, who’ll be the outside threat to watch out for. Derek Eberle(12.6ppg/5.5rpg) 6’3 SR is a solid player coming back as well with a good knack for the game.

The Prairie Conference has several contenders this season worth mentioning. Veteran squads like West Central Area, Upsala, Browerville, Swanville, & the Thunder are very capable of coming out on top this year. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle's main section foes are Sauk Centre and Melrose.

Good guard play is the strength of the squad and with everyone back, it will come down to how the squad meshes together. There are a lot of capable kids who can contribute and make this a memorable season. Everyone will need to be accepting of their role and work hard towards the goals set when the season begins.
