Pumas Rise Above Hope Academy

Minneapolis, MN - The Cristo Rey Jesuit boys basketball team beat Hope Academy Friday night at home beginning their first winning streak of the season.

Cristo Rey set school records for team points scored in a game and margin of victory.

The Cristo Rey Jesuit boy's team defeated Hope Academy 92-42 in a matchup highlighted by the proximity between the two schools.

"That was the first time our guys went out in my two seasons and led wire to wire," said head coach Kristofer Babler. "We've stressed the importance of balance and tonight everyone got involved."

Five players each recorded nine or more points in the game.

Senior Jeffery Hudson led the attack with eight steals and five assists. Hudson opened the game up early by tipping passes and getting to lose balls.

Hope senior Christian McFadden led all scorers with 24 points.

Cristo Rey enters a busy week before the holiday break. They have a home game Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 7 pm against Schaeffer Academy. Thursday, Dec 19 they travel to Providence Academy to square off at 7 pm, also. They wrap up the week with Lake Street bragging rights on the line when Minnesota Transitions Charter comes to Cristo Rey for the game starting at 7:30 pm.
