A game of hot potato broke out for Farmington.
Not in the traditional sense that no one wanted the ball. It was more of who was going to get hot with the potato.
First, it was senior leading scorer Baiden Bean. He was in double figures with several minutes to spare in the first half. The springy guard finished with a game-high 21 points.
Soon after, it was guard Connor Todd. His 3-pointer got the crowd on its feet and 11 first-half points helped spark a Farmington run. It helped create separation and turn a close game into a 13-point halftime advantage.
It then was junior post Brandon Hrncir banging inside, and stepping out to hit a three, for nine of 15 points in the second half.
Farmington may lack Division-I star power, but it can come at opponents in waves.
The Tigers (3-1) are on a three-game winning streak after Friday’s 85-60 home win against Eden Prairie (2-1).
