Tigers' post play proves to be too much for Sebeka and West Central Area

Browerville 89, Sebeka 53

The Broweville Tigers boys’ basketball program continued their season last week with a game against Sebeka on Tuesday.

The Tigers’ defense locked down on the Trojans en route to an 89-53 victory.

The defense forced Sebeka into 21 turnovers that resulted in many easy baskets.

Browerville also won the rebounding battle 39-21.

Junior Mitch Heid led a good outside shooting night with four of the eight three-pointers made by the Tigers.

On Thursday, the Tigers got their first look at new conference opponent West Central Area when they traveled to Barrett.

The Tigers’ size gave them a clear advantage down low but WCA had good speed to keep themselves in the game.

“Neither team matched up well with the other,” head coach Bob Schueller said. “This led to a lot of fouls for each team.”

The Tigers led 41-29 at halftime but the lead was cut to five points before they went on a run.

Eventually, Browerville’s size was able to control WCA enough to take over in the second half.

Heid led the Tigers with 23 points, five steals and six assists.
