Thunder's Miller and Kaiser lead team over Johnnies

Last Friday night, the Thunder boys' basketball team traveled to St. John’s Prep to take on their new conference opponent. The Thunder were able to overcome a first half deficit to take the game 62-45.

Coach Bruce Young was pleased with how the team played defensively with them only giving up 45 points.

Austin Kaiser and Duane Miller led the defense doing well on rebounding and getting a handful of steals.

The Thunder got into an eight point hole in the first half, but they were able to claw back and hit a big shot to give themselves a 25-22 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, the Thunder turned it on scoring 37 points.

Miller led all scorers finishing with 19 points. Stanley Harvey and Tavis Bergmann both reached double figures with 15 and 11 points.

Kaiser led the team with nine rebounds while Miller pulled down eight.

The Thunder continue their conference schedule when they face Osakis on Thursday at home.
