The nightcap of the Breakdown Tip off Classic will feature 3-0 Minnetonka taking on 1-1 Buffalo. After winning just four games a year ago, the Skippers could match that win total after two weeks this year if they can get by a tough Bison squad.

Beating Buffalo is easier said than done though as Nick Guida is a state championship-experienced coach whose team always plays at a disciplined high level. Guards/wings Dominic Gilmer, Ethan Freer, Peter Cassady, and Caleb Ruter will have the floor spread from corner to corner making Minnetonka pay for any defensive lapses.

The Skippers, currently playing without top returning scorer Tommy McDermott, are getting it done with the three-man scoring combination of Joe Risinger, Riley Dearring, and Latrell Love. Risinger is coming off a recent six three-point make, 26-point effort in last weekend’s Girls Tip Off at Rogers while Dearing has scored nearly 20 a game. Up front, Andrew Turnblad has grabbed 29 rebounds in three games dominating the glass.
