Cooper's Rashad Vaughn

The Robbinsdale Cooper versus DeLaSalle game is completely intriguing to the random fan first off because of the talent that Rashad Vaughn of Cooper and Reid Travis of DeLaSalle have. But it’s more than that.

The game will be the first of the year for Cooper and the first for DeLaSalle since being defeated by Blake 50-44 in their opener. Most would expect the Islanders defense to be too much for the Hawks who are playing almost completely with a new line-up from a year ago.

But Cooper has been a resilient team for almost a decade now coming back year after year with new talent. Will Vaughn score a lot? Yes. Will he be alone in his battle? No.

So which way does one look at this game? Does DeLaSalle’s loss to Blake make this more likely to be a blowout because the Islanders will be extremely motivated or does that loss mean that Cooper has a better chance at playing with, and maybe beating their opponent?

College coaches will be there to find out how good Vaughn, Travis, Jarvis Johnson, Shawn Fitzgibbons, Tyler Moore, and others are. Fans should be there for the same reason plus to get a lot at the chemistry of an interesting game.
