The third-seeded Yellowjackets in Class 2A used that offense to help hold the Cardinals at bay en route to a 73-58 victory.

Redwood Valley came back from a 10-point deficit late in the first half of the Class 2A quarterfinals to trail by a point.

But then Perham’s Carter Cresap threw up a three-point shot just before the buzzer that went in to give Perham a 28-24 lead at halftime.

The No. 3-seeded Yellowjackets (30-1) rode the emotional lift into the second half, going on 14-4 scoring streak en route to a 73-58 victory over Redwood Falls-based Redwood Valley (16-12) on Wednesday at Williams Arena.

“I feel like that did make a little momentum change going into the second half,” Cresap said. “We came out in the second half with a nice little lead there, and it kind of helped us throughout the whole game.”
