We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.
Spectrum vs. Maranatha Christian Academy, 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23. No. 7-2A Spectrum (18-2, 10-1) could prove to be a speed bump for No. 4-2A Maranatha (20-2, 12-0), which is on a run to a Minnesota Christian Athletic Association Conference title.
East Ridge vs. Cretin-Derham Hall, 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23. Cretin-Derham Hall (16-5, 9-2) struggled to start the season, then won 12 of 13 games. How much the Raiders have improved will be put to the test in a string of games against high-powered teams including Suburban East rival No. 4-4A East Ridge (19-2, 11-0).
Warroad vs. Roseau, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19. C'mon, in hockey this is a no-brainer. Does the rivalry between Warroad (12-10, 1-4) and Roseau (17-5, 3-2) carry over to the basketball court? Tuesday will surely be the proof.
The MN Basketball Hub poll is for entertainment purposes only.
