And the winner is... MN Boys' Basketball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top Performer winner

Kolby Kiser, Sebeka. Kiser posted two double-double games last week. On Jan. 28, he had 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 68-55 win against Hill City. A few days later, his 17-point, 14-board performance helped defeat Bertha-Hewitt 58-50.

Top performer candidates

Jalen Suggs, Minnehaha Academy. The Redhawks guard went for 31 points in an 81-61 victory over Austin on Feb. 2 — pushing Minnehaha Academy, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A by Minnesota Basketball News, to its sixth consecutive win. 

Hunter Hannuksela, Mesabi East. The Giants had no trouble on Feb. 1 behind Hannuksela's 21 points, six rebounds and four steals in a 75-33 win at Duluth Marshall.

Jamison Battle, DeLaSalle. Battle scored 37 points to get No. 1-3A DeLaSalle past St. Croix Lutheran 86-48 on Feb. 1. Thirty-seven marks as his second-highest points total of the season, after scoring 40 on Dec. 8 at Wayzata.

Matthew Hurt, Rochester John Marshall. The state's leading scorer recorded 41 points, 18 boards, four assists and three blocks on Feb. 1, as the Rockets downed Winona 65-58. 

Isaac Tessier, White Bear Lake. Offensive production from the senior gave the Bears a boost against New Prague on Feb. 2. Tessier scored 17 points and provided 10 assists in the 71-60 win.

Charles Johnson, Holy Angels. Johnson made his mark across the stat line in a 73-58 win over Concordia Academy on Feb. 1. He tallied 14 points, 13 rebounds, seven steals and six assists for the No. 10-3A Stars.

Jax Madson, Mankato East. Mankato East won a close 66-64 contest over Mahtomedi on Feb. 2, thanks in part to Madson's 24 points. He leads the No. 5-3A Cougars with an average of 21 points per game. 

Brock Bangasser, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. The center scored 16 points along with 11 rebounds to help his team beat Maple Lake 79-49 on Feb. 1. The 6-foot-7 senior has scored 16 points or more in each of his past five games. 

Zeke Nnaji, Hopkins. Nnaji continued his high scoring run this week, as No. 1-4A Hopkins defeated Wayzata 90-80 on Feb 1. The senior knocked down 41 points against the No. 7-4A Trojans.
