Top Performer winner

Logan Nagorski, Big Lake. Following a loss to Princeton in which he had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Nagorski hit 30 points and eight rebounds in a 72-40 win over Chisago Lakes on Jan. 11.

Top performer candidates

James Sommer, Cristo Rey Jesuit. Sommer's 31 points and 12 rebounds gave Cristo Rey Jesuit the upper hand in its 75-51 win at Hope Academy on Jan. 11. Sommer then scored 29 points in a loss to Minneapolis Henry the next day.

Jack Middleton, Edina. The senior scored 25 points or more in all three of Edina's wins last week. Middleton's highlight performance was posting 31 points in an 80-79 win over No. 1-4A Hopkins on Jan. 11.

Carson Becicka, Mesabi East. Becicka's all-around contributions weren't enough to garner a win on Jan. 8, but he finished with 27 points, five assists and five steals, as Mesabi East fell 77-57 to Proctor.

Derek Techam, Delano. Techam went on a hot scoring run last week. It started when he reached 37 points in a 105-74 victory over Sauk Rapids-Rice on Jan. 8. The senior then scored 26 points in each of the next two victories — at Becker and at Albany — for No. 5-3A Delano.

Baden Noennig, Mayer Lutheran. The senior guard averaged 24 points during the week, with his peak performance coming in Mayer Lutheran's 68-64 victory at Belle Plaine on Jan. 8. Noennig's 29 points pushed his team to win the tight game.
