And the winner is... Boys' Basketball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top Performer winner

Charles Katona, Shakopee. Katona led the way for No. 4-4A Shakopee in its 88-67 win over Burnsville on Jan. 4. The junior scored 29 points, hit the career 1,000-point threshold, and helped extend the Sabers' winning streak to four games.

Top performer candidates

Dawson Garcia, Prior Lake. Prior Lake's forward provided two big scoring nights in a pair of wins for the Lakers, who are ranked No. 2 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News from Jan. 2. Garcia netted 35 points in a 92-62 win on Jan. 3 against Chanhassen and added another 26 points with 10 rebounds the following night in a 75-60 victory over Lakeville South.

Charlie Gorres, Park of Cottage Grove. In Cottage Grove's 84-60 victory over Woodbury on Jan. 4, Gorres recorded a triple-double to lead his team to its second win of the week. The senior had 20 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in the win.

Mitch Hoistad, Maple Lake. Hoistad contributed 30 points in Maple Lake's 60-54 win against Kimball on Jan. 4. His contribution helped the Irish extend their winning streak to three games.

Jacob Donnett, Kaleidoscope Charter. A two-way performance by Donnett led the Comets to a resounding 88-29 throttling of New Century Academy on Jan. 3. He finished the game with 33 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks.

Jon Stimmler, Princeton. The No. 2-3A Tigers had a good night with a big contribution from their senior forward. Stimmler produced in multiple ways, scoring 20 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and snagging four steals in Princeton's 95-59 thrashing of Zimmerman on Jan. 4.
