Junior guard J’vonne Hadley put an exclamation point on Mahtomedi’s win against Tartan with a basket in front of a player he hopes to follow the same path as.

“It felt amazing,” Hadley said about the last basket against Tartan’s Idaho State-bound senior guard Antwan Kimmons. “Me and Kimmons are good friends, and we talked about it (the matchup) before the game too. He said it’s going to be a good game too.”

Hadley, who also has Division I hoops aspirations, outshined Kimmons with a game-high 37 points as Mahtomedi prevailed 57-51 in a Metro East Conference clash. Kimmons, the Titans’ leading scorer with 23 points per game, had 28 points in the loss.
