Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association all-star event set for this weekend

The 34th annual event features 40 of the state's top seniors competing at St. Cloud State on April 6 and at Macalester College on April 7.

McDonald Award finalists Gabe Kalscheur of DeLaSalle, Owen King of Caledonia and Daniel Oturu of Cretin-Derham Hall are three of the state's top senior players competing in the 36th annual Minnesota High School All-Star Basketball Series this weekend.

Forty players on four teams will play doubleheaders at St. Cloud State University's Halenbeck Hall on Friday, April 6, and again on Saturday, April 7, at the Leonard Center on the campus of Macalester College. A game schedule is below.

A dunking exhibition will precede each game while a three-point shooting contest will be held at halftime on both dates. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults, and $6 for senior citizens and students (5 & under are free). 

Players were selected by nominations from their coaches, who must be a member of the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association, and includes athletes who are available and have committed to participate in the event.

April 6 at Halenbeck Hall:
Team Green vs. Team Blue, 7 p.m.
Team Gold vs. Team Maroon, 8:45 p.m.
April 7 at Leonard Center:
TBD vs TBD, 2 p.m.
TBD vs. TBD, 3:45 p.m.
