Spring Lake Park upsets Champlin Park

SPRING LAKE PARK 74, CHAMPLIN PARK 62: Spring Lake Park’s Sean Scott was ready to lead his team to an upset over the Class 4A, No. 7-ranked Rebels. So ready that he shattered the school record for points in a game that had stood since 1959. The junior scored 47 points. He made four three-pointers and was 11-for-13 from the free-throw line. The Rebels were led by senior forward TJ Okafor (18 points) and junior guard Anthony Hill (17).

COOPER 84, ARMSTRONG 79: The Hawks’ supporting cast helped counter a dominant effort from the Falcons’ Marquel Curtis (30 points) and K.J. Bluford (28). Four Hawks reached double-digit scoring, led by senior center Raheem Tyner with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Senior guard Handful Pour added 21 points and five assists.

MINNEAPOLIS WASHBURN 76, ST. LOUIS PARK 73: The Millers trailed by one at halftime, but behind a season-high 32 points from junior guard Dwight Anderson, they were able to seize control throughout the second half. St. Louis Park scored in the closing seconds but never regained possession. Senior forward Cedric Chappell added 18 points for the Millers, ranked No. 10 in Class 3A. The Orioles were led by sophomore guard Kashif Hayes with 14 points.

MINNESOTA TRANSITIONS 135, FOND DU LAC OJIBWE 79 : Senior guard Kyle Noreen scored a season-high 49 points, leading the Class 1A, No. 3 Wolves to an easy victory. The Wolves scored 84 points in the first half.  Junior forward Kello Brown had 27 points for Fond du Lac Ojibwe.
