Duluth east eeks out win over Minnesota Transitions

DULUTH EAST 69, MINNESOTA TRANSITIONS 65: Senior guard Dusty Royseth hit a three-pointer from the corner with one minute remaining, giving the Greyhounds the lead for good in their victory over the Class 1A, No. 1 Wolves. Transitions led 60-58 when Royseth hit his shot. He finished with five points. Duluth East junior guards Johnny Woodard (25 points) and Taylor Stafford combined for 46 points. Matt Lanier led the Wolves with 25 points.

HOLY FAMILY 82, BRAHAM 74: The Class 2A, No. 7 Bombers didn’t have an answer for Ryan Dahl on the interior. The 6-8 junior center scored 25 of his 36 points in the second half for the  Fire, which won after trailing 43-36 at halftime. Braham junior guard Tyler Vaughan scored  37 points, including six three-pointers.

MINNEAPOLIS WASHBURN 70, WAYZATA 63: Brothers Dwight and Nick Anderson teamed up in the final two minutes to send the Millers over the Trojans. Trailing 61-60 with two minutes to go, Dwight (twice) and Nick (once) combined to go on a 6-0 run with breakaway layups, giving Washburn a five-point lead. Dwight, a junior, finished with a team-high 14 points while Nick, a sophomore, added 12 points. Wayzata was led by Eric Robertson with 20 points.

ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 55, MOORHEAD 53: In an evenly matched game, the Knights’ Dain Krutzig grabbed a long rebound in the lane and hit a jumper in the waning seconds to beat the Class 4A, No. 10 Spuds. Michael Mooney led the Knights with 19 points and Joe Carpenter added 11 points and 11 rebounds.

SHAKOPEE 64, ORONO 51: The Sabers jumped all over the Class 3A, No. 7 Spartans with their pressure defense, building a 30-12 lead. Jason Perkins had 17 points for the Sabers, who held Orono’s high-scoring Jordan Smith to 15 points.
