Chaska and Lakeville North found themselves in tight games last Saturday at the Breakdown Sports Tip Off Classic, and both needed overtime to decide the outcomes.

Chaska, ranked eighth in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, fell in double overtime to No. 7-4A Woodbury 87-80.

One of the state's most prolific scorers, Columbia prospect Myles Hanson, posted 26 points for the Hawks (2-1) before fouling out at the end of the first extra session.

Lakeville North defeated No. 5-4A Cretin-Derham Hall behind 36 points and 15 rebounds from Nathan Reuvers, a 6-foot-10 power forward headed to Wisconsin next year.

With Reuvers leading the way, the No. 2-4A Panthers could be a force to be reckoned with and pose a challenge for Hanson and the Hawks, who look to repeat last season's 71-68 upset over Lakeville North.

The stage is set for this showdown between state tournament contenders, making Chaska's home opener our Top Game of the Week.
