Michael Jones posted a career-high 33 points to lead Woodbury to a 87-80 double-overtime victory over Chaska Saturday afternoon in the Breakdown Sports Tip Off Classic at the Lindbergh Center in Hopkins.

Ranked No. 7 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, the Royals (2-0) went on a 10-point run to open the second overtime session, a deficit the No. 8-4A Hawks couldn’t overcome.

Jones hit five three pointers in the second half and shot a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line in the extra frames.

Columbia commit Myles Hanson posted 26 points for Chaska (2-1) before fouling out in the final minute of the first overtime.

Jeremiah Coddon banked in a half-court shot at the halftime buzzer to cut into the Hawks' halftime lead. He tallied with 24 points for Woodbury.

Chris Nicholson and Hanson contributed to that early lead by scoring 12 each in the first half. Nicholson finished the game with 17.
