Washburn holds off Eden Prairie

• MINNEAPOLIS WASHBURN 68, EDEN PRAIRIE 67: Clarence Thomas scored 20 points, including four three-pointers, in the Millers’ victory. Thomas made two three-pointers in the final six minutes, and teammate Dwight Anderson nailed a big three-pointer late. Eden Prairie rallied, but Washburn held the Eagles off with four free throws in the final minute by Anderson’s brother, Nick.

• BROOKLYN CENTER 52, FRIDLEY 50: Junior forward Dantral Hines’ only basket of the night from the corner with 24 seconds left broke a tie, and gave the Centaurs a victory over the Tigers. Fridley got off a good shot in the closing seconds but failed to convert.

• APPLE VALLEY 76, ST. LOUIS PARK 70: The Orioles didn’t have a defense to contain Tom Schalk. The Eagles senior forward connected on 14 of 17 shots en route to a 36-point, 15-rebound performance in the win. Apple Valley freshman guard Tyus Jones also had a double-double, finishing with added 19 points and 11 assists.
