Only a select number of Class 1A programs are able to consistently compete with teams from the state's two largest classes, and Minneapolis North might be at the top of the list.

No stranger to playing against some of Minnesota's large- and small-school powers, the Polars, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A by Minnesota Basketball News, face their toughest test of the season this week when they host undefeated Hopkins, Class 4A's top-ranked team.

The matchup features two players who have committed to don the University of Minnesota's maroon and gold, albeit in different sports.

Royals senior guard Amir Coffey will take his game to Williams Arena next year as a member of the men's basketball squad, while the Polars' Tyler Johnson hopes to make an impact on the turf at TCF Bank Stadium playing for the football team.

While it's rare that a top-ranked team would be an underdog, that is the situation North finds itself in as its hosts Hopkins in this interclass heavyweight battle, one we think is a no-brainer as our Top Game of the Week.
