Lake Conference teams on long winning streaks go head-to-head as Hopkins travels to Minnetonka on Friday in our Top Game of the Week.

The Royals (11-4, 3-0), ranked No. 10 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, enter the week having won seven consecutive games, including a 75-67 victory over Eden Prairie on Jan. 16 that gave Hopkins a one-game lead over Minnetonka in the league standings.

The No. 4-4A Skippers (14-2, 2-1) are on an eight-game winning streak, with Minnetonka's last loss coming in a league matchup with Eden Prairie (106-86) on Dec. 19. The Skippers would equal the Royals' conference record with a victory and keep Hopkins from increasing its lead in the standings.

This game also has the potential to be a shootout as Hopkins and Minnetonka are among the state's highest-scoring teams. The Skippers are third-best at 85.3 points per game, while the Royals are 11th at 77.2 ppg.
