Jordan Olmscheid takes over the Ogilvie Lion boys program this season and hopes to get the Lions in the win column as soon as possible. Last year was one to forget as the team was 0-24.

Those times are indeed in the past and 5 seniors are back to help move in a positive direction. Coach Olmscheid and assistant Tim Welch will look to create a new mentality and build the program up.

Senior Kohlton Houfer is a nice player for the Lions who has had a little hard luck.. He’s put a lot on his back in the scoring column when he has played. He suffered a broken ankle in fall ball recently. It’s hopeful he’ll be back at full capacity by December. Other seniors being asked to commit themselves to being good team leaders and contributors are: Joey Ryan, Marcus Hoyles, Lucas Carroll, Levi Johnston, and Zach Peterson.

The Lions are not expected to compete for conference or section titles this season, but they will be determined to try and get to the middle of the pack from where they were last season. Braham and Mora are always big games and tough opponents for the this squad.

Attitude and commitment in practice and games will be something Coach Olmscheid will preach all season. He looks for the Lions to have major improvement in the win column and be competitive each and every time out.
