Kyle Haberman begins his first season at Lake Park-Audubon returning four kids who played significant minutes last year. The Raiders finished last season 8-14, but Haberman and assistant Michael Baune believe an improvement will be on the horizon for this year.

Expectations will be to compete each and every night whether practice or a game. LPA has an opportunity to fight for the Pine to Prairie conference title due to their abilities to put the ball in the basket. There are is some youth coming up that put loads of time in the summer and they hope to make their own varsity noise to help the team succeed.

Justin Hanson, a senior post player, will be a key component to the team’s success this year. Hanson can be a strong and physical player. There is not much post depth behind him though, so he’ll be asked to log a lot of minutes this season. Others coming back with experience include Tim Brekken, Lane Ulmer, and Mitchell Hall. Hall is a sophomore who has a lot of natural abilities and is going to be a well known LPA player sooner rather than later.

Main competition for a league title in the P2P conference this season comes from Ada-Borup and Park Christian. these squads are perennially good and will present tough teams again this year. Battle Lake returns several good kids and is the early favorite to represent Section 6A, but we must play the games.
Keys to a good season will be keeping healthy & developing some talent to back up Hanson. Coach Haberman has spent his time in the program developing culture which his group of guys have bought into. The Raiders look to be a program to watch in the years to come.
