Schell hits trey to give Vikings victory, 59-55

Trailing by as many as a dozen points in the second half, Pelican Rapids rallied for a 59-55 victory over St. Peter at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic at Minnetonka High School. Devin Schell gave the Vikings the lead for good with a three-pointer with 1:22 left and teammates Ryan Bruggeman and Tucker Forsgren made their free throws down the stretch.

Down by double-digits with under 10 minutes left, the Vikings turned up the heat on defense, pressuring the Saints into numerous second-half turnovers. Still, it wasn't until Schell's trey that they finally took the lead. Bruggeman led the Vikings in scoring with 24 points, including 15 in the second-half rally. Forgsren added 13 points, while Schell had nine -- all on second-half three-pointers.

St. Peter has built up its lead with strong inside play from Tommy Steidler (22 points) and Peter Kruize (21). But the Saints were unable to sustain their offense after intermission due to the Vikings' pressure defense.
