As Perham’s leading scorer this season, Jordan Bruhn has hit plenty of clutch shots for the No. 1 seed Yellow Jackets.

But in the state tournament, nothing is a given. Not even for defending state champions.

“That first game always brings jitters,” the senior guard said.

Bruhn made the most of his eight shots made from the field in a 51-47 victory over Worthington (21-7), none bigger than the one he swished on a pull-up three pointer from the top of the key to put Perham up by six with two minutes to go.

Perham (28-2) made just two other three-pointers during the game, both in the first half.

“That definitely gave us a spark,” Bruhn said of his shot, which helped him to a team-high 21 points. “I know it got everyone fired up. I really don’t know what I was doing. I was just feeling it. I just let it go.”

Coach Dave Cresep led a loud locker room celebration – louder than most for a non-upset quarterfinal victory – then high-fived several members of the Perham band on their way to the bus.

“We know all this is going to end sometime,” he said. “We’re just glad we get to stay the whole weekend.”

Jordan Bruhn, Perham - Jordan was the standout player for Perham Wednesday night at the Target Center.  He led Perham to victory with 21 points.  He showed leadership and poise in a hard fought game against Worthington while tallying seven assists.   Jordan had eleven points at half and found the same success in the second where he was four for six from the field.  He handled the pressure well down the stretch and contributed 36, well played, minutes. 

Mitch Weg, Worthington - Weg showed dominance all game long against Perham in a close tilt.  He led Worthington with 24 points and ten rebounds.  His strong performance in the paint, unfortunately, was not enough to help them advance Wednesday night.  Weg's 24 points was a game high as well as his ten rebounds.  He was an impressive, eleven for sixteen on field goals.  

Jordan Cresap, Perham -  Cresap chipped in thirteen of his own points to help lead Perham past Worthington at the Target Center.  Jordan was six for nine from the field and contributed a timely three in the first half that noticeably swung the momentum in Perham's favor.  Cresap will look to continue to help run the fast Perham offense as they advance to the State Semifinals.
