Lakeview Christian Academy junior phenom Anders Broman scored 71 points in his team's 114-110 loss to Melrose on Saturday afternoon, the second-highest single-game point total in state history.
Broman's 71 surpassed the 70 scored by Foley's Norm Grow in 1958 but still is short of the state record of 90 scored by Minnesota Transitions' Cash Eggleston in 2005.
Earlier this season, Broman became the fastest Minnesota player ever to reach 3,000 career points. He's within range of the state record 4,086 set by Transitions' Kevin Noreen.
Melrose junior guard Scottie Stone scored 39 points in the win, which tied a school record.
