After Wayzata and DeLaSalle walked off the court after their anticipated late season, non-conference matchup, a mutual admiration was evident.

The Class 4A Trojans and 3A Islanders are also glad they won’t have to see each other in the postseason.

A pair of Minnesota Mr. Basketball top-10 finalists put on a show in front of a packed gym. Wayzata senior guard Hayden Tibbits scored a team-high 22 points and got help from his friends to outduel a 31-point effort by DeLaSalle senior guard Nasir Whitlock.

The host Trojans emerged with a 64-61 victory.
