And the winner is...MN Basketball Hub Top Performer revealed

See who fans voted as the Top Performer from Jan. 2-7.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email scores@nbcuni.com


Top performer winner

Henry Erickson, Windom. Erickson was not only scoring this past week but also distributing. On Jan. 6, he tallied 24 points and 19 assists against St. James. The next day, he poured in 19 points and 12 assists against Sibley East.

Top performer candidates

Daniel Freitag, Bloomington Jefferson. The standout junior Jaguar rolled into 2023 in a big way. It started with a 41-point performance against Minneapolis South as he knocked down 16 shots. He followed it up with 28 points against Burnsville.

Ben Kopetzki, Andover. Going up against Northwest Suburban Conference rival Anoka, Kopetzki was starring on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he poured in 31 points, following that up with six steals on the defensive end on Jan. 6.

Asher Zubich, Mountain Iron-Buhl. Zubich looks like a player capable of making this list each week. This past week, he certainly showed out. It started with a 33-point, 11-assist performance against Hill City on Jan. 3. Three days later, he poured in 26 points and four assists against Chisholm. 

Kaden Vig, Kittson County Central. Vig had quite the two-day stretch when it came to scoring and rebounding. On Jan. 5, he poured in 29 points while grabbing 19 rebounds against Goodridge-Grygla-Gaztke. A day later, he continued his run of double-doubles with 25 points and 12 rebounds against Lake of the Woods.
