Defenses dominated throughout much of the game in Wednesday’s matchup between two state-ranked teams at the East Ridge Holiday Classic.

So it was not a big surprise that a defensive play is what sealed a win for Eastview against the host school on the first day of the holiday tournament.

Dylan Omweno came up with a steal after an inbounds pass from East Ridge with the score tied 43-43 and 14 seconds remaining in the second half. He then drew an intentional foul, resulting in a series of free throws and a 45-43 lead for the Lightning with less than eight seconds remaining.
