Minneapolis North found itself in a familiar spot Friday.
The Polars gathered on the floor to take a team photo and cut down the net as the Class 2A, Section 5 champions, which was their fourth consecutive — excluding the pandemic-canceled season.

But for 18 minutes, Maranatha (23-7) made them work. Minneapolis North only led by three points, 39-36, as it headed into the locker room at Augsburg University.

But a few second-half adjustments, including stopping its full-court defense, made a big difference. Minneapolis North (25-6) went on a 22-4 run over the next 10 minutes to pull away in an 80-52 victory.
