Maple Grove has gained a reputation this season for giving some of the top teams in the state trouble. Last week it defeated No. 2-4A Shakopee 71-70. At the end of January they battled with No. 2-3A Totino-Grace on the road and lost by six points.

“Maple Grove has kind of been something we would describe as giant killers,” Park Center head coach James Ware said.

The Crimson (12-12, 11-6) had another opportunity at a big upset tonight as they hosted No. 1-4A Park Center. And they looked up for it, but Park Center pulled away in the second half to win 70-57 Thursday night.
