We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.




Other games to keep an eye on

Buffalo vs. Brainerd, 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6. This game could be two unbeaten teams facing off at tipoff on Thursday. Buffalo (8-0, 0-0) already has more victories than it did last season (7-9). Brainerd (5-0, 3-0) reached the Class 4A Section 8 semifinals in 2020-21.

Lakeville North vs. Eastview, 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4. No. 8-4A Lakeville North (6-1, 1-0) will be put to the test this week, starting with this conference tilt against No. 5-4A Eastview (7-1, 1-0). No. 3-4A Wayzata visits the Panthers on Thursday.
